I decided on the Nimbus 25's as they are on run-out specials now, which means you get a very decent (and still new-ish) tekkie for a very good price, just days before the new Nimbus 26 was launched in the country.
With only one 30 km longrun done, the soles felt a bit stiffer than anticipated, but the cushioning was great and I'm really looking forward to use this as my new racing shoes, with the odd longrun in between.
The Asics "sock" lining at the ankle-top of the shoe is a new thing and something you have to get used to. But it didn't interfere with my running. In fact, the thinner upper of the shoe (compared to my older Nimbus 23's) gives you the impression of a jet-fighter shoe: light and nimble, and made for purpose.
And last but not least, while you may be sweating up a hill and blowing like a charging hippo, you still want to look cool. And the Nimbus 25's deliver, with that funky teal uppers and pure white soles. Shuffling up a hill you're Michael Jackson doin' the Billie Jean-moonwalk in your mind. Winner winner, I'd say.
