The Mizuno Wave Rider 25 for men are neutral, all-round running shoes. These shoes are ideal for runners who are looking for a versatile running shoe for their daily runs. The Rider 25 is suitable for short as well as long distances.
The Wave Rider 25 is one of Mizuno's most iconic shoes and has been very popular amongst runners for years on end.
The upper is basic, but good. Instead of focussing on appearance, Mizuno placed all its focus on functionality and quality. The upper is made of two layers of Air Mesh material which enclose the feet without becoming too rigid. The tongue has been connected to the upper. This prevents the tongue from sliding down into the shoe during activities. The heel cap has a traditional mould; meaning that it provides a lot of padding around the heel and underneath the ankle. The shoes, thereby, ensure a soft feel and help to lock down the heel in place during your runs.
The famous Mizuno Wave Plate is also found in the Wave Rider 25. This synthetic plate has a wave-like shape which ensures a stable landing and a springy take-off. The Wave Plate in the Rider 25 is reinforced on the inside and thereby knows to provide a more stable ride, even when fatigue sets in. Thanks to this reinforcement you'll enjoy a smooth ride. The Rider 25 has a midsole that's completely made of Enerzy cushioning material. This wasn't the case in the Rider 24. Enerzy cushioning material has a softer feel and is 15% more responsive than the material used previously. Thanks to this the Rider 25 knows to provide a comfortable and light running experience.
Underneath the shoe you'll find a blown rubber outsole. The outsole has been made a tiny bit thicker (1 millimetre to be precise) to ensure more ground contact and more grip. The shoes also have a longer lifespan thanks to this. The base of the forefoot is a bit wider and provides a more stable take-off thanks to this. The heel features X10 Carbon Rubber. This material withstands wear better and extends the lifespan of the Rider 25 significantly.
